WikiSky – Visualising the Stars
This is excellent. Browse the night sky! The site developers have taken a lot of the information about stars and other stellar objects located outside the Solar System, using data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), including photos of the sky. SDSS doesn't cover all the sky yet (just a 1/4 is mapped) but as more in revealed it will appear here.
Using this is a joy and very easy (and it's NOT in Flash!) with multiple zoom levels. Just move the cursor to see information on each star (and there are a lot!) . If you prefer a view by Galaxy, Nebulars, Globular Clusters or Quasers click The Collection and have a look. They have even provided an API so developers can write code to use it. Highly recommended!
