What is Special About Nunbers 1-9999?
Did you know that 9960 is the number of 3×3×3 sliding puzzle positions that require exactly 8 moves to solve. No Me neither. Or that 9013 is the largest known number n so that 65n – 64n is prime? The creator of the "What's Special…" website is compiling a list of the numbers 1-9999 and showing off a special property of each number. 619 is a strobbogrammatic prime. Strobogrammtic means it is the same number when inverted. It still has a way to go to get all of the numbers but I guess it's just a matter of time.
Thankfully all of the obscure, arcane descriptions have a link to their definitions. Otherwise how would I find out about Cullen numbers, Motzkin numbers, or Kaprekar constants!
