Want to Stop Junk Mail? (UK)
Ever thought that if all junk mail was stopped, just how much fuel, energy and co2 that would save, not to mention trees, and space in your rubbish or recycling bin. Of course companies would have to devise new methods to reach us.
Anyhow, itsmypost.com is a website that provides three ways to stop junk mail. If you pay them £4.95 a year, they will email hundreds of companies (the main ones) on your behalf. For free, they will contact the Mail Preference Service (not always guranteed though in theory it's meant to) and by post- you pick companies to mail from the itsmypost list and you will be emailed contact details that you post by recorded delivery.
I'm going to try the paid option. At £5 a year (websites need to cover their costs!) it is a cheap option.
