US Population Hits 300 Million Today
Axccoprding to the US Census, the US population crashed through the 300 million barrier today ten minutes before midday. They have a population clock that shows that every 7 seconds someone is born, but every 13 seconds someone dies. Almost twice a minute (31 seconds) an immigrant moves to the USA and so on average every 11 seconds, the population goes up by one head.
This is an estimate of course, they can't really count up the heads except at periodic censuses. (Censii? What is the plural of census?).
There's a link on the page to historic estimates. Interesting that since 1968, the US population has increased by 50% from 200 million.
