Students for an Orwellian Society
Two centuries ago this would have been a pamphlet or a satirical cartoon in Punch magazine. It demonstrates the somewhat Orwellian (as in his book 1984) aspects of the current World Order by highlighting the absurdities in real news, for example the US claiming to have captured someone they killed a year ago.
Coincidentally I was watching the film version of Orwell’s 1984 starring John Hurt and Richard Burton over the weekend and this site dovetails nicely. Are we living in IngSoc? Not quite but it’s a rather easy target to hit. Nu Labour claiming to have reduced Hospital Waiting lists by excluding those who have applied for an operation etc but have not yet received it.
