Snipshot – Online Photo Editing
An increasing new trend is online tools. You can write with websites like writely.com (and others), do online spreadsheets and we've already seen the visio lookalikes on Portent. Now you can edit photos and images online with snipshot.
This isn't Photo Shop but it lets you resize, crop, rotate and make adjustments to your image. it's only a small step in that direction but it is the first step in that direction. I'd say another 3-5 years but this is something that will happen. One reason why is Google with an amazing amount of cash behind them. They've bought several online applications and it's believed that they will aim to provide online most of what you curently need desktop applications for. Then the platform becomes almost irrelevant. Who cares if it's Windows, Mac or Linux?
