Platial – Peoples Atlas

Adverts by Google

platial Platial Peoples AtlasAs one who has spent a considerable number of hours- I can testify that to get the best out of Google Maps, you need to be good at JavaScript (which I most definitely am not!) Platial though provides an alternative way to create your own maps and highlight places of interest so that others can visit them.

Their blurb explains it "Platial enables anyone to find, create and use meaningful maps of
Places that matter to them. We hope it can connect people,
neighborhoods, cities and countries through a citizen-driven common
context that goes beyond geopolitical boundaries
".

This is what you would call a Web 2.0 website and quick slick though as a victim of its own success it can run a bit slow at times. If you have a blog you can for instance create and use a map in your blog through Platial's easy to use Mapkit. Platial is very well done.
