Piracy Attacks Maps
I'm watching the remake of the fog on Tv at the moment, so it's difficult not to keep shouting yaar with this story! As the google map shows, piracy (of the attacking ships kind not copying and selling music and software) is alive and kicking. Though there was some in the Caribbean, the traditional home of the Yaar type of pirates, most these days is in the South China sea, near Malaysia (where they also counterfeit DVDS…)
One shouldn't dismiss this as just theft- traditional pirates were blood thirsty (yaar!) and the present day lot use machine guns, rpgs and are no less ruthless.
