Never mind Pluto, just how big is the Earth?
I'm a great fan of visualisation and the picture shown is the first one of a set that demonstrate relative sizes of planets and stars. They clearly show just how tiny and insignificant the earth is (never mind Pluto ) on a cosmic scale compared to some stellar objects.
The images show just how the Earth is compared to Jupiter, which itself is dwarfed by the Sun. While the Sun is a miniscule compared to Arcturus which is very small compared to Antares. When you think that the Sun is one pixel in size in the last image, and in that same image Antares is over 400 pixels in diameter and that one pixel is roughly a million miles, it is nigh impossible to really comprehend just how incredibly big Antares is.
