Yes there really is a museum of barbed wire- (Devil's Rope Museum) in Mclean, Texas on the old route 66. The website is pretty good as well, with a series of articles on who invented it, how many competing patents there were (Over 570!), different types and lot more. There are over 530 patented barbed wires, approximately 2,000
variations and over 2,000 patented barbed wire tools to collect.
