Mega Photo of Machu Pichi
It's a great photo but what you don't realise is that it is actually a composite of 404 photographs taken by Scott Howard and you can zoom far in to see amazing detail (use the controls).
See a black spot very near the middle? Take a look. I guess that is Scott himself? Zoom in and you can see him taking a photo! So who took his photo? <g>
The technical details are quite staggering- 11 hours to render the photo which is 60,000 x 26,000 pixels and the final image is 13.5 GB in size. Thankfully, the website takes care of that loading in the bits you ned as you zoom and look at it. (Techy Note- the software used can create panoramas up to 300,000 x 300,000 in size- – so if you see any do tell us!)
