Looking East
Englishrussia.com is an interesting photo blog insight into Russia. It's quite fascinating how similar yet different Russian culture is. The photo is part of a set of buildings in an abandoned city. After the Berlin wall collapsed in 1989, Russia sort of went into freefall with glasnost, perestroika, the ennsuing corruption etc. Cities like this which had been propped up by the Soviet State were abandoned. Everyone moved out.
Unfortunately no idea of the location is given, but from seeing these photos it would make a great film set. War film, post apocalyptic horror etc etc. Or maybe preserved as it is, as a tourist attraction/historical tour.
