The Japanese have taken vending machines to much greater machines than the UK. It is reckoned that there are 5.6 million vending machines which works out to be one for every 20 people in Japan.

The photo is of an egg vending machine and is from Doug Mann, an American engineer who lives in Japan. His site features a beautiful collection of photos (including many of Angkor Wat!) from over 20 countries as well as the page of vending machines shots.
