Now this is quite ingenious. There are some (not me) who believe that RFID represents a grave threat to mankind. These devices are used to simplify the tracking of goods when being transported and on shop shelves.
Unlike a bar code which has to be scanned, an RFID responds to a signal and returns some useful information from a short distance away. No need to look for the code. But some people are concerned that rfid chips are easily hidden and can be used to spy on you. As the site says “Implantable RFID tags for animals allow concerned owners to label their pets and livestock. Verichip Corp. has also created a slightly adapted implantable RFID chip, the size of a grain of rice, for use in humans.”
So this device detects hidden rfid tags and lets you stops them functioning as long as you want by shielding them from being interrogated.

Between 2003 and 2007 a group of people lived in a secret room (750 square feet size) above a parking lot in a shopping mall. They came and went unnoticed.
Eventually they got caught and the whole story came out, but for four years they lived there working on a memorial project to 9/11. Quite amazing.

The world is a bit divided about Google. It’s a great search engine and Google Maps is just amazing as is Google Earth, Gmail etc etc. But Google collects a lot of information about you. For example if you are logged in to Google and do a search your search is recorded.
Now my own belief is that they just want to make money, which they are very good at doing, but some people are concerned enough (but still like using Google to do searches) hence scroogle. I can’t imagine how they got the name.. Screw Google? Surely not! So that’s what Scroogle does. You can run google searches indirectly through it so it can’t be traced and recorded against you.
While Google itself isn’t evil, the data it collects could be used against you, like Yahoo did with giving up information about a Chinese blogger who is now in jail. Last year Google resisted attempts by the US Govt to get hold of some of its data but in the future…
