If you had 3000 Decks of Cards and a Month…?
Do you think you could build this castle? It took Bryan Berg, the acknowledged inventor of cardstacking on the grand scale, a month, in a project with Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL to create a new Guinness World Record category with the World's Largest House of Cards.
Cardstacking is the name for building things with normal playing cards. I suppose the best bit is getting to demolish your creations – though creation seems kind of ephemeral.
A couple of weeks ago, at the State Fair in Dallas he spent what looks like several day (its a time lapse video) constructing several card buildings including one that looks about 30 storeys high. Then at the end of the video he takes a high power air blower and to the cheers of the crowd, demolishes each and every building! You can see the video on his site.
He has also published a book (which I have a copy) on how to do card stacking with lots of excellent photos of his creations. I think it's fair to describe him as an artist who works in 3d using playing cards. His creations are just amazing.
