Global Consciousness
This sounds very new age, yet it is a valid scientific experiment. It has long been believed that human consciousness can influence random number generators. These generate random values from electrical 'noise' ( called Johnson noise) in resistors. This occurs at the quantum level, where it is also believed human consciousness exists. Irrespective of the actual technology, it is a well designed random number generator and the experiemnt is to determine if human consciousness can alter the characteristics of the random numbers. The experiment has been running at Princeton university in the USA.
Now there is a global version with the random number generators plus sensors deployed in many countries of the world. By studying the continuous output of this they wwnt to see if there are any major deviations from normal random output. This is known as the EGG project. (The word ElectroGaiaGram has been coined for the devices- EGG is less er of a mouthful!).
You can read analysis of readings taken on September 11th 2001, and around New Years when 'Global Consciousness' is affected. There are deviations from the norm that appear statistically significant. The experiment has been running since the late 90s and there are some 75 researchers involved.
However rather than just respond to events, they now want to orchestrate what could be called a Global Love In on December 22nd 2006 and are asking for millions of people to be involved. Just meet up with your loved one and do what comes naturally…
