GameTunnel – New Downloadable Zine
Back before the interweb, the 'Zine scene existed- amateur zines roamed the land seeking subbers (subscribers), living a mayfly like existence with a few issues produced then fading away or being subsumed into other 'zines. Some 'zines were very professionally written and produced.
Why I even ran the Borland and Turbo Pascal User Group (BatPug) in 1989-1993 and that reached a heady 11 issues with 250 subbers. I got a two year contract to develop software from a subber in the City of London six years later. What goes round…
GameTunnel Magazine is a 40 page 'PDF Zine reviewing, and previewing Indie Computer games. Produced quarterly by Russell Carroll and others, he has been developing this and the GameTunnel website for four years, GameTunnel Magazine is a visual feast with an excellent balance of screenshots, text and of course the reviewers ratings. Even with a minor typo or two this is a quality piece of work. It's a 5Mb pdf.
