First World War
This is what I'd categorise as a labour of love website, one of my favourites to highlight. People rarely appreciate the effort and time that goes into creating something like this.
The purpose of this website
by Michael Duffy is to provide an overview of the First World War and there is a lot of material here. I'd guess it took longer than the actual conflict to create! There are over 5,000 photographs (in fact Google Image search says 22,100!) and 4,600 pages makes this more of an encyclopedia. It's well presented and looks good, which is one thing that labour of love sites often lack, so kudos for that.
If you want to learn about World War 1, this is an excellent place to begin. you may never need anything else!
