Today is Genes for Jeans day in the UK so this interactive Flash animation which shows how Cloning works seems appropriate. Sadly there are no big lightning flashes, mad scientists or cloned creatures running amok and killing their creator.
However, the animation takes you through transferring the donor egg from one mouse, removing the nucleus and eventually implenting the divided nucleus into another mouse host. It's nicely and tastefully done and takes under ten minutes as opposed to the almost 20 days that the real thing takes. It demonstrates what took place in 1998.
