Glass Toilets- Enhancing the Smallest Room!

Adverts by Google

Link to Glass ToiletsIt’s not often that I see something completely original but this I think qualifies although the name is not strictly accurate- Glass Cisterns might be better, albeit less imaginative. Totally glass toilets- not a good idea I guess there are some things that man is not meant to see.

I could see these catching on they look great. I bet somebody would even keep goldfish in them (would need a filter to prevent “Bob” being sent on a one way journey!). And it’s a decent set of accessories as well. Only problem I can see is that unless you’re a man (and even then, not always…), most of the time you wouldn’t actually be looking at the cistern!

Humanity Through the Ages Illustration (NSFW!)

Adverts by Google

Link to Humanity IllustrationThis picture is 15,941 by 261 pixels in size. Scaled down and split into three chunks gives you an idea of the size.

It’s well done but isn’t exactly safe for work- some bits have a touch of nudity and baby making but as a piece of art it’s tremendous!

Visualisation of Spread of Obesity Through Social Networks

Link to Washington postThanks to the New England Journal of Medicine, this 108 second long visualisation, hosted by the Washington Post) shows a network of friends connections (the original type of social network!) and how obesity spreads through it.

I’d guess it’s about life styles and sharing it with friends. Who wouldn’t want to sit around, watch a DVD and eat pizza? Maybe the answer is to get out more, ditch your fat friends and avoid fast food. Even if you don’t live any longer, it will seem like it!

Spot the Fake Smile!

Link to Spot the Fake SmileI like this but that’s probably because I got 17 out of 20 correct. It’s on the BBC’s website. You are shown 20 short video clips of people smiling. All you have to do is say which is a fake and which is genuine.

Easy? Well I didn’t do too bad. It isn’t that easy to fake a genuine smile.

Poster – US Troops in How Many Countries?

Link to US Troops PictureNow I’m not saying that perhaps the US has its forces spread a bit thin across the world, but this illustration shows which countries they have troops in and it is more than its ever been. 156 countries with US forces in them, 63 with bases and troops.

If I was playing Risk, I think I’d be nearly winning by now!
