Great Buildings Online
This site has more than just a massive collection of information about great buildings. It includes lists of places, architects.
It is though, more about the buildings than anything else. As well as the search and a very long alphabetically sorted list you can also browse by building type, architectural style, time period when constructed, construction types, climates, contexts, construction elements and you can even see by popularity which buildings or architects details people are looking at.
And there’s more. You can view and download free (or get the lot on CD-ROM) 3d models of many of the buildings. There’s free software (or pay a small sum for a more professional version) which lets you view the 3d models.

20 Things I learned Website
This is both beautiful and educational. It’s a website done as the pages of a book complete with flipping pages that you can drag. The technology is very modern all CSS, JavaScript and HTML5. No flash at all. It displays and works well in an iPad apart from the page dragging.
Expect to see more of these technologies. If it doesn’t work in Internet Explorer, use Chrome or get IE 9 when it comes out.

Glass Toilets- Enhancing the Smallest Room!
It’s not often that I see something completely original but this I think qualifies although the name is not strictly accurate- Glass Cisterns might be better, albeit less imaginative. Totally glass toilets- not a good idea I guess there are some things that man is not meant to see.
I could see these catching on they look great. I bet somebody would even keep goldfish in them (would need a filter to prevent “Bob” being sent on a one way journey!). And it’s a decent set of accessories as well. Only problem I can see is that unless you’re a man (and even then, not always…), most of the time you wouldn’t actually be looking at the cistern!
