A site with a Risk Warning! Dangerously Fun!
You'll know by now that I'm a big kid at heart and this website just pushes so many of my buttons. The phrase don't try this at home comes to mind but of course you will, so take care and remember "it's all fun until someone loses an eye!"
Dangerously Fun has interesting projects- like a gauss gun (using simple magnets), dry ice bomb, vinegar grenade and so forth. Yes I have done quite a few of these, like electrolysis (splitting water to get hydrogen, not removing hairs from skin!) and er worse! (That's a spoof article BTW but the toy cannon bit at the top of the article was real!).
It tells you what kind of a kid I was that I was playing with batteries and lightbulbs when I was five and when worked out when I was seven that it is just about impossible to get a toy submarine to float at the same depth. It either goes up or down. Aged ten I created my first toy cannon using matches. How did I (or my parents) ever survive my childhood!
