legocomputer A Lego Computer CaseIt's been a while since a Lego story so here is a series of photos and descriptions of a real working computer in a case made of Lego.

I've helped assemble computers (though never in a Lego case) and the main thing to watch is that there is sufficient air flow, for the fans to keep it cool. I'm not sure what temperature Lego bricks can take but I wouldn't want to be the first to find out when they melt or more likely burn. The CPU in a PC can run run very hot, too hot to touch.

Other problems- static and dust. Lego bricks are an insulator and these will help to build up a static charge that a metal case would disperse- so you have to beware if you are working on it or you will blow sensitive chips like RAM (memory). You need to have your PC properly earthed if you work on it, usually by leaving the power lead plugged in. Some PCs (mainly older ones) have an on/off switch so the motherboard is grounded but off. Many modern boards though are always live when the lead is plugged in (only low voltages but one dropped screw can still short out a chip).  Also you need to remove dust every few months. Static attracts dust!
