3d Chess!
Whether inventor Ray Edward Bornert II got his inspiration from the original Star Trek series where Mr. Spock used to play a form of 3d chess or not, this is a vastly different game involving 8 chess boards stacked above each other, 512 squares and a host of new pieces including the mace whose possible 3d moves are shown. The other new pieces are Grand Knight, Rookbishop, Rookmace, Bishopmace, Red Knight and Green Knight.
You can buy a set here, where there is a link to a page showing a set and it would make a fabulous piece of furniture- definitely a gift "For the man or women who has everything". But as to playing, I suspect to be anywhere good you must have at least Mensa level IQ. As Mr Spock would say "Fascinating".
