Discovered recently, these photos give a glimpse of the event that brought the USA into World War 2- the attack on the fleet in Pearl Harbour by the Japanese. As it takes such a long time to build aircraft carriers the Japanese figured that they could so a surprise attack and take out the US aircraft carrier capability in the Pacific ocean. Unfortunately for them, the major part of the US fleet was not in port that day.
